Gweni Llwyd is an artist who works across tactile and digital realms - predominately through moving-image, drawing, and installation. Gweni’s works playfully weave together personal, collective and more-than-human experiences, drawing attention to how all life is part of a messy, shared metabolism.

Gweni was recently artist in residence with Elan Links at the Elan Valley, mid Wales (autumn 2023) developing research around the form shifting and time travelling potentials of water. Between 2021-2023 Gweni was based in Rotterdam, Netherlands, while on the MA Fine Art programme at Piet Zwart Institute. Gweni’s research and installation based making focused on different scales of time - looking to emphasise the absurdity of capitalist time scales in relation to natural processes and forces.

Other recent projects, residencies, commissions, and exhibitions include: SWAY Barry (ongoing 2024); Colomendy Residency, Cardiff (2024); Partial View, MAMA, Rotterdam (2023); Traces of a Cathode, s1 artspace, Sheffield (2023); I Must Be Living Twice, European Cultural Centre at the 59th Venice Biennale (2022); One Day Home, W139, Amsterdam (2022); Silicon Retina, Green Man Festival (2021); Jerwood UNITE, g39 (2021); VRAL Milan Machinima Festival, Milan (2021); AutoSave presents: Rhizodome, online (2021); Ankle Tap, NDCW & Pontio, Bangor (2020); Rat Trap x g39, Cardiff (2020); V&A Late: Art Schools, V&A, London (2019).
